Job summary

Google is seeking a Hardware Engineering Intern for the Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team in the US. This internship is intended for PhD students in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical engineering or related fields, in their penultimate year, available for 12 weeks full-time.

The role involves designing hardware and software powering Google's services, with teams focused on infrastructure and scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
• Penultimate year or returning to degree after completion of internship.
• Experience with data center systems.
• Experience with consumer electronics or device manufacturing.
• Experience in hardware system integration, signal and power integrity, system validation, product design (mechanical/thermal), computer architecture, FPGAs, embedded systems, memory systems (FEA or CFD), modeling or simulation for power/thermal analysis, or prototyping/testing of data center systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the hardware and software technologies that power all of Google's services.
• Collaborate with the AI & Infrastructure teams to develop scalable, reliable hardware solutions.
