Job summary

Google is seeking a Hardware Engineering Intern for the Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team. The role focuses on designing and building hardware and software technologies powering Google services, with exposure to data center systems and in-lab testing.

The internship is for penultimate-year PhD students in a relevant technical field, with opportunity to work at multiple US sites, including Bellevue, WA and Playa Vista, CA. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
• Penultimate year or returning to a degree program after completion of internship.
• Experience with data center systems.
• Experience with consumer electronics or device manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• As a Hardware Engineering Intern, help design and build hardware and software technologies powering Google services.
• Contribute to hardware system integration, signal/power integrity, and lab debugging for data center projects.
