Job summary

Qualcomm is currently seeking an experienced engineer in Boulder, Colorado, to perform debugging and integration of RF, analog, and digital systems. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve design solutions and product quality.

Job description

Overview

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret clearance. The successful applicant will work principally out of the Boulder, Colorado office and should be willing to travel occasionally to the San Diego office (quarterly or as required).

Responsibilities
  • Perform component and system level debug and integration of RF, analog, and digital systems.
  • Set up, execute, and calibrate complex automated tests and test racks; generate reports and deliver presentations.
  • Apply basic design troubleshooting rules and processes for electronic hardware, equipment, and integrated circuitry.
  • Read device specification sheets and validate hardware design features.
  • Evaluate device performance to identify optimization opportunities and potential flaws in design, compliance, or mechanical aspects.
  • Accurately document materials, components, chipsets, and assemblies for devices.
  • Troubleshoot common product design issues, suggest solutions, and document lessons learned.
  • Provide basic technical input and support to internal customers.
  • Act as a tech lead on small projects with minimal guidance.
  • Assist in conducting specialized analyses (feasibility studies, signal integrity, power integrity, teardown analyses) under the direction of more experienced engineers.
  • Develop methodology, process flows, and automation for validating newly designed products.
  • Interface with cross‑functional teams (RF, Analog, Digital IC designers, Software, System Engineering, Test Engineers, Customer Engineering, Operations) to incorporate design solutions into production, improving yield, productivity, and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Electronics or related area.
  • Military experience or training in electronics (Rank E4+ for 2 years).
  • 2+ years of experience with digital hardware/software, and/or analog RF troubleshooting and debugging.
  • 2+ years in a lab or production environment.
  • 2+ years working with senior leadership.
  • 2+ years using schematic capture and circuit simulation software.
  • 2+ years using measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RF tools.
  • 2+ years performing circuit and system level tests, including setup, calibration, and presentation of automated tests.
  • 2 years experience in wireless or consumer electronics development.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of support engineering or related work experience, OR
  • Associate’s degree and 3+ years of support engineering or related work experience, OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of support engineering or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years of work experience (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years).

Compensation & Benefits
