Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA (and Chantilly, VA) offers a full-time onsite Hardware Security Engineering Grad Intern role in the Cyber and Mission Technology Department. You will work on hardware security, cryptography, and embedded compute solutions for national security space systems, under experienced staff mentorship.

Ideal candidates are pursuing graduate degrees in CE, EE, or CS with FPGA/HDL experience, C/Python, and Linux proficiency. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university pursuing a graduate degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related program.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks and return to degree program after completion.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Directly contribute to hardware security research, development, and applications.
• Define threat paths and develop guidance on FPGA/ASIC/embedded systems vulnerability mitigations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug hardware and firmware issues.
• Assist in development and improvement of microelectronics assurance policy, requirements and documentation.
• Collaborate with Aerospace departments and external organizations to develop new demonstrations and capabilities.
• Learn and grow through trainings and mentorship from experienced staff.
