Bliffert Lumber in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a part-time Hardware Associate to be the store’s primary customer-facing representative, helping shoppers find exactly what they need and guiding purchasing decisions. You will keep the sales floor stocked and clean, handle cash transactions, operate Windows-based checkout software, and partner with the Hardware Manager to ensure safe, efficient store operations.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal: Passionate about creating a positive and memorable experience for customers, colleagues, and community in every interaction.
• Physical ability: Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Schedule: Flexibility and availability to work some weekends.
• Licensing: Valid driver's license with the ability to perform occasional local travel.
• Reporting: Reports directly to the Hardware Manager.

Responsibilities

• Direct customers to products and answer questions about store goods.
• Assist customers in making purchase decisions to ensure project success.
• Act as our store’s representative and deliver a superior level of care.
• Handle cash transactions and complete retail sales professionally.
• Use Windows-based software to assist with transactions and daily operations.
• Stock store items and ensure product displays are neat and organized.
• Perform cleaning and daily upkeep of the store to maintain a welcoming environment.
• Execute occasional local travel with a company vehicle as needed.
• Follow and enforce all safety rules and policies outlined by Bliffert Lumber management.
• Report any workplace injuries immediately to the Hardware Manager.
• Protect company values by keeping all financial information and plans strictly confidential.
• Perform additional job responsibilities as assigned by the Manager to support store operations.
