Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Hardware Reliability Technician, Root Cause, for Starlink to ensure reliability of user terminals and gateways through manufacturing, testing, and installation.

You will work on root cause investigations, PCB soldering and X-ray inspections, and support containment actions while maintaining compliance with ISO 9001.

Shift options include nights; onsite in Bastrop; ITAR compliance applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in production, manufacturing, or related environment.
• Preferred: 2+ years quality experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with root cause analysis on electrical systems and PCBA.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and resolve quality issues impacting Starlink products in a timely and effective manner.
• Document production non-conformances accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of quality management system policies and procedures.
• Participate in root cause investigations on Starlink products to identify and eliminate sources of defects.
• Perform field return triage and conduct root cause analysis on returned hardware.
• Execute PCB solder rework and X-ray inspections to support root cause analysis and MRB disposition.
• Support production teams during critical containment actions and quality alerts.
• Assess production processes for compliance with company standards and applicable industry requirements.

HARDWARE RELIABILITY TECHNICIAN, ROOT CAUSE (STARLINK)

As a Hardware Reliability Technician on the Starlink team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and quality of Starlink user terminals and gateways through manufacturing, test, and installation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate and resolve quality issues impacting Starlink products in a timely and effective manner

• Document production non-conformances accurately and in accordance with established procedures

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate

• 1+ years of experience working in a production, mechanical, or manufacturing environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment

• Experience performing root cause analysis on electrical systems and PCBAs with expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues related to solder joint quality, component failures, and manufacturing/assembly defects

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field

• Experience working with root cause/corrective action systems

• Self-motivated, proactive, and experience managing multiple priorities and tasks

• Practical experience working within quality management systems (ISO 9001)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends, as needed

• Must be willing to work the following shift:

• C.1 Shift (5:00pm - 5:00am, Sun - Wed) [4x12's front half]

• C.2 Shift (7:00pm - 5:00am, Sun - Thurs) [5x10's front half]

• D.1 Shift (5:00pm - 5:00am, Wed - Sat) [4x12's back half]

• D.2 Shift (7:00pm - 5:00am, Tues - Sat) [5x10's back half]

• Schedule may vary depending on site operational needs and flexibility is required regarding overtime and weekend support

• Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, and lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted

• Must be willing to work onsite in Bastrop, TX – remote work not considered
