Job summary

Amperesand in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Reliability Engineer to drive end-to-end reliability for the Solid-State Transformer (SST) platform, from concept to field deployment. You will lead cross-functional teams to mitigate risks with DFMEA/FTA, develop PoF models, and set reliability benchmarks for supplier selection, ensuring lifetime targets for critical energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Mechanical Reliability field.
• Experience in hardware reliability or circuit analysis desired.
• Familiarity with Weibull and MTBF; eager to learn Bayesian/Monte Carlo methods.

Responsibilities

• Set up reliability test plans for SSTs, including thermal mapping and life testing.
• Analyze test data for trends in failures using statistics.
• Participate in DFMEA sessions and document risks.
• Perform root-cause analysis with lab instruments and coordinate with senior engineers.
• Develop PoF models and reliability blocks.
• Communicate results to Design/Manufacturing and travel to facilities.
• Maintain records of procedures and milestones.
• Travel occasionally for hardware deployment.
