Job summary

Formlabs is seeking an R&D Print Process Engineering Intern to design, build, and advance 3D printing techniques. You will work onsite in Somerville, MA and collaborate across engineering teams to validate new concepts and improve current printers.

A portfolio of prior engineering work is required.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of engineering work/projects required.
• Experience with experiment design and data analysis.
• Familiar with Python or MATLAB for scientific computing.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, mechatronics, and CAD modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and innovate new 3D printing techniques, from printer architectures to galvo control adjustments.
• Collaborate across teams to implement improvements to current products.
• Evaluate printer performance to identify areas for improvement.
• Design and execute experiments; use results to inform software or hardware improvements.
• Tackle complex problems across multiple engineering disciplines.
