Job summary

EdgeX in San Diego is seeking a QA Engineer with an electrical engineering foundation to own quality across our hardware products. This full-time role focuses on planning, running, and improving tests, with your EE background helping you understand boards and schematics beyond pure functionality.

You’ll collaborate with the EE team, write and review test cases, bring up new revisions, isolate defects, and use benchtop tools to diagnose root causes, ensuring reliability across our assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts.
• Fluent in documenting defects and test results.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, and execute test cases for tags, sensors, and anchor hardware.
• Review schematics and PCB layouts with EE team.
• Perform board bring-up and validation on new revisions.
• Reproduce, isolate, and clearly document defects; drive fixes with engineering.
• Use benchtop equipment to investigate root causes.
• Build and improve test fixtures, checklists, and procedures.
• Support regulatory and compliance testing as needed.
