Job summary

Standard Bots is seeking a Hardware Product Manager to own a hardware product area from concept through to a shipped, customer-ready solution. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers, shape the product strategy, and validate assumptions with real-world testing on the factory floor.

You will lead discovery, define specs, and build a strong point of view on the market and customer needs, ensuring manufacturability and timely delivery in a fast-moving robotics

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware product management, ideally with hands-on experience building robotics products.
• Experience taking a hardware product from concept to released product.
• You're comfortable running iterative test-and-learn cycles with physical prototypes, not just software.
• You've built and shipped things you're proud of and can articulate impact and outcomes.
• You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own product discovery, strategy, and delivery for a hardware product area from 0-1—from market insight to shipped product.
• Build a sharp point of view on the market, customer needs, and opportunities where competitors fall short.
• Drive iterative testing loops—prototype, test in real-world conditions, learn, and revise quickly.
• Go deep on customer problems—talk to users, visit sites, understand field usage of hardware.
• Define what we're building with clear specs and requirements engineers can run with.
• Work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to balance cost, manufacturability, performance, and schedule.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to de-risk assumptions early.
