Job summary

American Innovations in Austin, Texas seeks a skilled Hardware Sustaining & PLM Engineer to own hardware sustaining and Arena PLM, ensuring revision control, release documentation, and ongoing production support for field-deployed industrial products.

You will collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, and Quality to maintain buildability, supportability, and well-documented designs while driving cost-reduction initiatives and alternate-part qualification.

Qualifications

• BSEE or equivalent with bench/debug experience; not PLM-only.
• 4–7 years in sustaining/hardware roles with lifecycle ownership.
• Demonstrated BOM, ECO, obsolescence, EOL mitigation, and cost-reduction experience.
• PLM systems experience (Arena preferred; Windchill acceptable).
• Manufacturing support and lifecycle management across production and contract manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own Arena PLM for hardware scope, revision control, and release documentation.
• Provide sustaining support for production, failure analysis, and field issues.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and alternate vendor qualification.
• Back up manufacturing/test tasks and support direct hardware activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Program management on sustaining intake and PAC visibility.
