Job summary

Meta is seeking a Lab Engineer on the Hardware Infrastructure team to support lab environments used to validate server, storage, and networking hardware at scale. You will work with hardware engineers, systems engineers, and operations to ensure facilities are reliable, well-instrumented, and capable of supporting infrastructure testing programs that influence Meta's data center roadmap.

You will set up labs, perform rack-and-stack, manage inventories, and automate tasks to increase throughput

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 2+ years in a hardware lab, data center ops, or systems integration.
• Hands-on experience with server, storage, or networking hardware.
• Experience using lab instrumentation (power meters, oscilloscopes, thermal tools).
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation and data processing.
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets; travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain lab environments for hardware validation.
• Execute hardware bring-up, rack-and-stack, and cabling for test beds.
• Develop and maintain lab inventory and asset tracking.
• Collaborate on test configurations that meet validation requirements.
• Operate and troubleshoot lab instrumentation and test equipment.
• Support failure analysis and coordinate with vendors on RMA processes.
• Automate routine lab tasks to improve throughput.
• Maintain lab safety and environmental monitoring.
• Coordinate lab scheduling across multiple validation programs.
