Insight Global in Spring, Texas is seeking a Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer to work onsite in a lab environment. You will perform triage and failure analysis on PC devices, inspecting at system, sub-system, and component levels.

You will diagnose root causes, report findings to management and engineering, and support corrective actions. The role requires experience with schematics, electrical debugging, and test equipment such as oscilloscopes and X-Ray/CT.

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer to work onsite at one of our premier clients in Spring, Texas (North Houston). This person will be conducting triage and failure analysis on PC devices that come in from the field. This analysis includes inspecting devices at the system, sub-system, and component level. Using a variety of tools and techniques, they will diagnose what is wrong with the device, identify the root cause of the failure, and provide the findings to management/engineering staff for further action. The failures will be related to, but not limited to: motherboard and electrical components, system software, drivers, chassis integrity, cabling, screen and bezel damage/wear, keyboard, touchpad, ports, etc.

This position is working in a lab environment and the typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm CST (1 hr lunch).

Compensation: $28.00-32.00/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience performing failure / root-cause analysis on PC devices down to the component level PC teardown ability without compromising failure evidence
• Ability to read/interpret schematics and board layouts
• Strong experience with electrical debugging techniques/methodologies
• Strong experience using tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, digital microscopes, X-Ray/CT, cross-sectioning components, thermal imaging etc.
• Ability to report detailed findings (written & verbal communication)Degree in an electronics related field of study
• Previous HP experience or experience working on HP branded devices
• Cadence Allegro
