Job summary

EVONA in Austin, TX seeks a Manager, Hardware Engineering to lead a Digital & Mixed-Signal hardware team delivering high-speed boards for space applications. You’ll mentor engineers, drive architecture reviews, and ensure design for manufacturability while staying hands-on when needed.

The role targets 7+ years in digital or mixed-signal hardware, a BS/CE degree, and deep FPGA/PCB design experience, including Altium, SIwave/ADS tools, and SDR/FPGA toolchains.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of digital or mixed-signal hardware experience.
• Deep expertise in high-speed digital and mixed-signal board design.
• Experience with Altium and high-speed simulation tools like Ansys SIwave or ADS SIPro.
• Strong DFM/DFT and hardware production experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing digital & mixed-signal hardware engineering team.
• Maintain technical excellence across complex hardware programs.
• Lead high-speed digital and mixed-signal board/system development.
• Drive rigorous architecture and design reviews.
• Establish signal integrity, schematic, PCB layout and hardware development standards.
• Support debugging of high-speed interfaces, large FPGAs and processors.
• Contribute hands-on to critical board-level designs when required.
• Drive DFM/DFT and production transition.
• Improve design reuse, modular architectures and platform commonality.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical career paths.
• Support hiring, staffing, resource planning and engineering execution.
