Job summary

GroundWork Renewables is seeking a hands-on hardware engineer to validate designs, run reliability programs, and coordinate with contract manufacturers. You will work with firmware, data, and field teams and collaborate with our ISO/IEC 17025 lab in Albuquerque for environmental and performance testing.

This role requires leading certification efforts (UL 1741, UL/IEC 61010), DFM/DFT ownership, and experience taking sophisticated electronics from prototype to production in a solar-focused

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5+ years in hardware product development.
• Experience with precision analog, data acquisition, and high-voltage/high-current sensing.
• Embedded IoT hardware experience and familiarity with test automation in Python.

Responsibilities

• Own design validation: define requirements, build test plans, and run DVT on power, analog/DAQ, and RF subsystems.
• Refine power electronics and precision analog front ends for voltage and current sensing.
• Run reliability and environmental programs: thermal cycling, damp heat, UV; set acceptance criteria.
• Lead certification through NRTLs and test labs: UL 1741, UL/IEC 61010, FCC Part 15; manage docs.
• Drive DFM/DFT: BOM cost-down, lifecycle risk, design reviews with CM.
• Oversee PCB fabrication and assembly vendors; manage yield ramp and corrective actions.
• Maintain the technical record: schematics, layout, BOMs, test reports, change control.
