Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking a summer intern to own a defined hardware project, from requirements through design, build, and bench validation. You will present results to the team and report to the Director, Electrical Engineering.

Areas include an on-board charger prototype, motor control circuit, or full-power hardware test bench. You will work onsite at our Oakland, CA office and collaborate with multiple engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, graduating Fall 2027–Summer 2028.
• Internship starts May/June 2027; Summer program only.

Responsibilities

• Own an end-to-end hardware project (on-board charger, motor control circuit, or test bench).
• Design, build, and bring up hardware from schematics to prototype assembly.
• Characterize performance on the bench with lab equipment against requirements.
• Collaborate with power electronics, firmware, and test engineers; incorporate feedback.
• Document results and present findings to the team at internship end.
