Job summary

Base is building the future of residential energy in California, deploying batteries and interconnection systems to deliver affordable, reliable power. As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will work hands-on with engineers across mechanical and electrical design, from early prototyping to production support.

You'll collaborate on designing, testing, and iterating hardware for batteries, inverters, and microgrid interfaces.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in Engineering, Physics, Math or related field.
• Strong hands-on hardware development interest and curiosity.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical or mechanical engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, build, and test electrical and mechanical systems with senior engineers.
• Participate in hands-on prototyping, debugging, and iterative testing of hardware.
• Support R&D and production efforts from breadboard to manufacturing scales.
• Help diagnose performance, thermal, and integration issues in real hardware.
• Contribute to system documentation, test procedures, and design reviews.
