Job summary

AtlasBase in South San Francisco is seeking a Hardware Engineer to support and enhance production hardware for our CMOS chip-based DNA synthesis platform. You will collaborate with mechanical, chemical, and electrical engineers to develop new hardware and validate designs.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Engineering and 2–5 years in product development, with biotech DNA synthesis experience, hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and strong CAD (SolidWorks) skills and documentation

Qualifications

BS in Engineering (Mechanical / Bio) or related discipline.
2-5 years' experience in product development environment.
Experience with biotechnology processes related to DNA synthesis.
General understanding of basic electro-mechanical systems.
Hands on skills to assemble, test, validate, and troubleshoot custom equipment.
Familiar with CAD (Solidworks) and design control.
Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment.

Responsibilities

Develop hardware systems enabling rapid advancement of Atlas CMOS chip-based DNA synthesis platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional team to design, build, test, and validate hardware solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with Atlas systems.
Design hardware for feasibility studies and design validation.
Conduct experimental testing, collect data, and maintain documentation.
Assist with tooling/fixture design and lab implementation.
