Job summary

Focus in Nashville is seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our hardware development and testing team. You will oversee testing and debug environments, assist in identifying hardware issues, and coordinate with HQ and vendors to deliver products on time.

The role requires 1–2 years of hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, PCB rework, oscilloscope and multimeter usage, and signal analysis. Direct manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and customers.
  • Measure the signal waveform and support the bring up test.
  • Operate the oscilloscope and Digital multi-meter.
  • Solder wire and rework PCB board.

Job description

Position: Hardware Engineer

Pay: $85k-$95k

  • (1st shift or 2nd shift)
  • Hiring manager requires 1-2 years of prior experience conducting hardware troubleshooting, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) reworking, signal waveform analysis, and debugging using oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Direct manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
Purpose of Position

The Hardware Engineer oversees the hardware testing and debug environment setup, assists with identifying related hardware engineering issues, and communicates with HQ team and vendors to ensure product is delivered on time.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • - Assist the engineers to solve engineering issues in a timely manner.
  • - Set up hardware testing and debug environment.
  • - Collaborate with the Research and Development team to find out the root cause.
  • - Support the manufacturing debug team with troubleshooting tasks.
  • - Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and customers.
  • - Measure the signal waveform and support the bring up test.
  • - Operate the oscilloscope and Digital multi-meter.
  • - Solder wire and rework PCB board.

Education and Experience
  • - Bachelor's degree, master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • - Knowledge of PC hardware architecture
  • - Demonstrated analytical critical thinking skills and communication skills.
  • - Experience working in manufacturing and/or product development role.
  • - Firsthand lab debug experience with scopes is desirable.
  • - Experience in designing circuit boards is desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • - Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
  • - Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
