Job description

Base pay range

$85,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr

Background

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to lead the testing and debugging of our client's environment setup, assist to identify the related hardware engineering issue, and communicate with HQ team and vendors to make sure the product can be delivered on time. The role is based on site in La Vergne, Tennessee for a global fortune 500 technology manufacturing & design company that is building cloud computing technologies for the world's largest search engine, online retailer and social media companies and working in the computer and electronics manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers to solve engineering issues timely
  • Set up hardware testing and debug environment
  • Collaborate with R&D to find out the root cause
  • Support the manufacturing debug team troubleshoot
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to R&D, manufacturing, and customer
  • Measure the signal waveform and support the bring up test
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Operate the oscilloscope and digital multi‑meter
  • Solder wire and rework PCB board
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and diligence
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of/Experience in/Proficiency in server/storage/PC hardware architecture
  • Demonstrated analytical critical thinking skills and communication skills
  • Experience working in manufacturing and/or product development role
  • Firsthand lab debug experience with scopes is desirable
  • Experience in designing circuit boards is desirable
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
Compensation

$85,000 to $120,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law.
