Job summary

Rajant Health Incorporated is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and support connected devices from battery-powered wearables to industrial IoT gateways.   • Hands-on experience with IoT devices, wearables, or industrial embedded systems.
  • Experience designing battery-powered products and/or always-on industrial systems.
  • Proficiency with PCB schematic capture and layout tools.
  • Strong lab skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, multimeter).
  • Ability to debug power, RF, and system-level issues.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop IoT hardware for battery-powered wearables and industrial gateways.
  • Architect MCU- and SoC-based systems integrating sensors, wireless connectivity, and peripherals.
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts for compact, low-power wearable devices and robust industrial platforms.
  • Prototype, bring up, test, and debug hardware at board and system level.
  • Design and optimize power management systems (battery selection, charging, protection, regulators, sleep states).
  • Integrate and support wireless technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and LoRa.
  • Consider RF, antenna placement, and signal integrity in both wearable and industrial form factors.
  • Support DFM, DFT, reliability, and regulatory certification (FCC, CE, PTCRB, UL as applicable).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, cloud, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Support pilot builds, production ramp, and ongoing manufacturing issues.
  • Investigate and resolve field failures and reliability issues.
  • Document hardware designs, validation plans, and test results.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Rajant Health Incorporated is seeking a Hardware Engineer to design, develop, and support connected devices ranging from battery-powered wearables to industrial IoT gateways. You will work on end-to-end hardware development, balancing power efficiency, reliability, performance, and cost, while collaborating closely with firmware, cloud, and mechanical teams to deliver production-ready IoT products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and develop IoT hardware for battery-powered wearables and industrial gateways
  • Architect MCU- and SoC-based systems integrating sensors, wireless connectivity, and peripherals
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts for compact, low-power wearable devices and robust industrial platforms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with ultra-low-power wearable designs (sleep modes, power profiling)
  • Experience with industrial gateways (multiple radios, Ethernet, RS‑485, CAN, USB)
  • Familiarity with thermal, EMI/EMC, and ruggedized enclosure constraints
  • Understanding of secure hardware design (secure boot, TPM/SE, key storage)
  • Experience supporting products through certification and mass production
  • Exposure to medical, industrial, or regulated environments
SOFT SKILLS:
  • Strong ownership and accountability for hardware designs
  • Comfortable working across disciplines and product lifecycles
  • Clear communicator with strong documentation habits
  • Ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs between power, cost, and performance
