Job summary

Orscheln Products in Missouri is seeking a Hardware Engineer to support the development of electronic hardware for automotive mechanisms and new product development programs. This role covers electrical hardware design, development, integration, and validation from concept through production launch.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with embedded electronic hardware, PCB-level designs, and control electronics for automotive or electromechanical products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in electrical/electronic hardware design and product development.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB development, circuit analysis, and component selection.
  • Knowledge of analog, digital, power, and embedded electronics.
  • Experience interfacing electronics with motors, sensors, actuators, or other mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and/or related interfaces.
  • Experience with automotive hardware development, validation, and applicable industry standards is preferred.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and laboratory testing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic hardware and circuitry for automotive mechanisms and electromechanical systems.
  • Support new product development from concept and feasibility through prototype, validation, and production release.
  • Develop and review schematics, circuit designs, component selections, and PCB requirements.
  • Design and evaluate analog, digital, power, and embedded electronic circuits.
  • Support hardware interfaces with motors, sensors, actuators, switches, and other electromechanical components.
  • Perform circuit analysis, calculations, simulations, and design trade studies.
  • Lead or support hardware bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and execute hardware verification and validation testing.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and similar test equipment.
  • Support EMC/EMI, environmental, reliability, and automotive qualification testing.
  • Work closely with embedded software, systems, mechanical, test, manufacturing, and supplier engineering teams.
  • Support design reviews, DFMEA, engineering changes, and transition of new hardware into production.

Job Summary
