Job summary

Meta in Redmond, WA is seeking a Hardware Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and integrate advanced electrical systems for consumer hardware and large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to ship products across the lifecycle.

  • Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills for bringing new technologies to market.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems or subsystems.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics, designing physical layouts (e.g., PCBs or panel/plant layouts), and/or performing hardware/system bring-up and debug at the lab or field level.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and with external partners or vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements).
  • Evidence of organization, communication, and documentation skills used to bring new technologies and product categories to market in a complex environment.
  • Experience leveraging technical and product development experience and cross-collaboration relationships to influence product direction.
  • Experience in an applied research organization.
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews).
  • Experience working independently, managing priorities, and demonstrating an aptitude for creative problem-solving.
  • Experience with robotic systems, health/medical devices, or wearable technologies.

As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate innovative electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts—to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment and operational excellence.
