Job summary

Meta is seeking an Electrical Subject Matter Expert to design, operate, and improve electrical infrastructure across its data center portfolio. You will lead high- and medium-voltage power systems, UPS, switchgear, transformers, and critical distribution architectures for hyperscale computing.

You will drive long-term electrical strategy, influence standards, and partner with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or trade certification with 4+ years electrical industry experience.
• Experience with critical facility operations and procedure-based work.
• Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment and systems.
• Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings; plans/specs/equipment drawings.
• Proficiency with documents, spreadsheets, email, and maintenance systems.
• Electrical testing experience/certifications (NETA/NICET).
• Trade license as electrician; English fluency preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools and responsible AI practices is a plus.

Job description

Meta is seeking an Electrical Subject Matter Expert to support the design, operation, and continuous improvement of electrical infrastructure across its global data center portfolio. In this role, you will serve as a technical authority on high-voltage and medium-voltage power systems, uninterruptible power supplies, switchgear, transformers, and critical power distribution architectures that underpin Meta's hyperscale computing infrastructure. You will drive long-term electrical strategy, influence standards development, and partner with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of data center electrical systems at scale.

Experience & Qualifications

• 8+ years relevant electrical industry experience or electrical trade level experience
• Bachelor’s degree or trade certification in related field plus 4+ years relevant electrical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 8+ years relevant electrical industry experience
• Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
• Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment & systems, with expertise in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction
• Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire and life safety systems
• Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
• Experience in comprehending plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings
• Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
• Proficient with computer systems including documents, spreadsheets, email, and maintenance systems
• NETA or NICET electrical testing experience/certifications
• Trade Certification or state license as an electrician
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Equipment field service engineering or representative experience
• Instrumentation & control, power system protection, power automation, etc. experience
• Experience in the data center industry
• Experience in high voltage (up to 345kV) equipment construction, operation, and maintenance
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
