Meta is seeking a Hardware Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for consumer hardware and large-scale infrastructure.   • 6+ years of experience in electrical design with shipping/high-volume products.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret/create schematics, PCB layouts, and perform hardware bring-up.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and with vendors.

Summary:

As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate innovative electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment and operational excellence.You will be part of a dynamic environment that values technical excellence, rapid iteration, and creative problem-solving.

Hardware Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Own electrical development of complex subsystems or moderately complex systems, under guidance from technical leads or managers

  2. Lead schematic design, board layout, and cross-functional design reviews

  3. Propose innovative solutions to enhance system or product performance, reliability, and features

  4. Manage hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, or deployment

  5. Evaluate vendor reference designs and adapt them to Meta’s requirements

  6. Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers

  7. contribute to team knowledge sharing

  8. Work autonomously and take initiative to manage individual and team priorities

  9. Collaborate in a distributed team environment and across engineering disciplines

  10. Contribute to operational excellence, compliance, or specialized requirements as relevant to the team’s mission

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience

  2. 6+ years of experience in electrical design, with a demonstrated track record of delivering/shipping high-volume products and/or working in research, prototyping, or early-stage development environments

  3. Demonstrated expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems or subsystems

  4. Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics, designing physical layouts (e.g., PCBs or panel/plant layouts), and/or performing hardware/system bring-up and debug at the lab or field level

  5. Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and with external partners or vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience developing manufacturing tests for high-volume consumer products

  2. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  3. Experience with RF system design and integration

  4. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  5. MS or PHD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

  6. Experience with high speed signaling over MIPI C-PHY/D-PHY, PCIe, USB SS and UFS

  7. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

  8. Experience with circuit design in high-speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and programmable logic based development

  9. Consumer Electronics experience and/or working within a mass production environment

  10. Experience designing for HDI flexible and rigid substrates for high volume cost optimized applications

  11. 8+ years of industry experience in electrical design

Public Compensation:

$144,000/year to $204,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
