Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The OISL Prototyping & Integration team is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer specializing in execution of complex Test, Development, and Data Processing needs to support mechanical, electrical and optical hardware builds. This role requires hands-on expertise in both mechanical and electrical domains, enabling the seamless execution of hardware automation, instrumentation, and post-processing.
As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will be embedded within our design and development teams, working closely with hardware engineers, technicians, and test engineers to accelerate LRU hardware development.
In this role, you will be expected to lead a variety of tasks, for example: developing hardware tests, data processing, and operational support. You will work closely with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to develop functional prototype hardware of complex electro/mechanical systems. You will drive technical innovation and exhibit consistent high-level of quality and speed.
This position requires strong conceptual development and the proficient use, and implementation, of various testing and automation processes within a prototype dev environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
