Job summary

Planet Group is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer Level 2 in Milwaukee, WI for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on electronic hardware product development, circuit design, hardware integration, and verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years hands-on experience in electrical/electronic hardware development.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuit theory and hardware documentation.
• Hands-on testing, analysis, and troubleshooting of hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and verify electronic hardware for industrial and embedded control applications.
• Perform circuit analysis, hardware troubleshooting and functional testing of components and prototypes.
• Read and review electrical schematics and circuit design documentation.
• Support hardware architecture, sub-circuit design and design verification activities.
• Use lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers) to evaluate hardware performance.
• Conduct functional testing, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare hardware design documentation, test procedures, and verification reports.
• Support investigations into hardware failures and drive root-cause analyses.
• Collaborate across electrical, firmware, systems, and other engineering teams.
• Contribute to design simulations, automated testing, and process improvements.
• Assist with compliance and verification for EMC and safety standards.
