Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer 2 for a contract role in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will design and test digital hardware, including FPGA-based subsystems and high-speed interfaces, while leading small teams and translating system specs into hardware requirements.

Requirements include a bachelor's (or master’s) in EE/CE, hands-on prototyping, and US citizenship with active clearance. On-site work in Rolling Meadows, IL is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering required.
• Master's degree preferred with extensive digital electronics experience.
• Experience in digital circuit design, simulation and schematic capture.
• Hands-on prototyping and debugging of digital subsystems.
• Ability to lead small project teams and translate specs to hardware.
• Familiarity with DOORS, ClearCase and ClearQuest.
• US citizenship and active clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and development of digital hardware products.
• Lead hardware design efforts for complex subsystems (FPGA, high-speed interfaces).
• Model, simulate, test, and validate hardware against specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document results.
• Maintain documentation and revision control for hardware artifacts.
