Job summary

Runnings in Putnam, CT is hiring a Department Manager for the Hardware department. You will lead merchandising and sales, ensuring top customer service and report to the Store Manager.

This role requires flexibility to work days, nights and alternating weekends. A solid knowledge of hardware and project work is preferred, with a pay range of $17.00-$19.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Customer service training or experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of hardware and project work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work closely with Retail Buyer(s) to ensure awareness of department product needs.
• Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members.
• Ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
