Job summary

X4 Technology is seeking an Electronics Components Engineer (Obsolescence) to support long-term product life by identifying replacement components, ensuring compliance, and aiding engineering teams working on safety-critical systems. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electronic component obsolescence and lifecycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components and equivalent part selection.
  • Experience reviewing technical data sheets, compliance standards, and approved component lists.
  • An understanding of safety-critical engineering environments.
  • Experience within aerospace, defence, avionics, or other highly regulated industries would be highly advantageous.

Electronics Components Engineer (Obsolescence) | Contract (W2/C2C) or Permanent

I'm supporting a confidential engineering client that's looking for an Electronics Components Engineer with a strong background in electronic component obsolescence management.


This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring long-term product support by identifying replacement components, maintaining compliance, and supporting engineering teams working on complex, safety-critical systems.


Key responsibilities:


  • Manage electronic component obsolescence and identify suitable alternative parts.

  • Assess replacement components against technical requirements and approved parts lists.

  • Review manufacturer data sheets and technical documentation.

  • Ensure components meet compliance and safety-critical requirements.

  • Support engineering teams with component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management.

  • Work closely with design, procurement, and quality teams to minimise the impact of obsolete components.


We're looking for someone with:
