Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install hardware on upholstered furniture according to work orders and quality standards.
  • Position and secure hardware components using hand and pneumatic tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Apply trim such as nails, welt, and upholstery finishing details as required.
  • Verify placement, spacing, alignment, and operation of hardware.
  • Inspect furniture before and after hardware installation for defects.
  • Read production orders and customer specifications to guide work.

Position Summary

The Hardware Assembly is responsible for installing decorative and functional hardware on furniture to ensure each piece meets company quality standards and customer specifications. This position requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work with a variety of hardware components and upholstery materials. Additional responsibilities may include applying decorative brass nails, welt, trim, and other finishing details as required.

Position Details
  • Install decorative and functional hardware on upholstered furniture according to work orders, spec sheets, and quality standards.
  • Position and secure hardware components accurately using hand tools, pneumatic tools, jigs, and fixtures as appropriate.
  • Apply decorative brass nails, nailhead trim, welt, and other upholstery trim when required.
  • Verify hardware placement, spacing, alignment, and operation to ensure a high-quality finished product.
  • Inspect furniture before and after hardware installation to identify and correct cosmetic or functional defects.
  • Read and interpret production orders, drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Maintain production standards while ensuring workmanship meets quality expectations.
  • Handle furniture and components carefully to prevent damage during the finishing process
  • Report material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in other upholstery or finishing operations as needed to support production requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
