Job summary

True Anomaly in Long Beach, CA seeks Hardware and Environments Test Engineers to design, plan, and execute test campaigns for aerospace defense systems. You will develop test plans, run tests, collect data, and analyze results to ensure performance and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field.
  • Ability to obtain Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical documentation skills.
  • Experience in hardware test engineering for aerospace/defense or high‑reliability systems.
  • Experience with data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of test strategies with minimal oversight.
  • Author and review test documentation including plans, procedures, readiness reports, and compliance matrices.
  • Set up test equipment, collect data, and generate test reports.
  • Identify anomalies and contribute to root cause investigations.
  • Work with multiple engineering disciplines and develop test system requirements.
  • Uphold safety protocols and comply with facility requirements during testing.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for test-related communications.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams, technicians, customers, and regulatory bodies during reviews.
  • Develop operating manuals for test equipment.

YOUR MISSION

We areseekinghighly motivated Hardware and Environments Test Engineers to support the design, planning, and execution of test campaigns for aerospace defense systems. You will work closely with engineers, program managers, and technical teams to ensure that systems meet performance, environmental, and mission-critical requirements. In this role, you will develop test plans, execute tests, collect data, analyze results, and ensure that the systems meet all specifications. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute tocutting-edgeaerospace technologies in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Takingownershipoftest strategies, including requirements verification, procedure development, and executionwithminimaloversight.
  • Author and review test documentation including plans, procedures, readiness reports, and compliance matrices.
  • Set up test equipment and hardware, collect and compile test data, and generate test reportsin accordance withprocedures.
  • Identifyanomalies,contribute toroot cause investigations,andnonconformances
  • Capableofworking with multipleengineeringdisciplines(thermal, structural,electrical,fluids, etc.) anddeveloping testingsystem requirements.
  • Upholdsafety protocols of test execution andmaintainingcompliance with all facility requirements throughout testing cycle.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for internal and external test-related communications.
  • Interface withmultiplecross functionalteams andprograms,technicians,customers,andregulatorybodies during design reviews andTestReadinessReviews.
  • Developoperationalmanualsfor testequipment
QUALIFICATIONS
  • U.S. Citizenshiprequired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field.
  • Able to obtain andmaintaina Secret orTop Secretclearance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and technical documentation skills.
  • Relevantexperience in hardware test engineering for aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems in line with engineering level.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in safely handling,operating, and testing flight hardware.
  • Experienceof data collection and analysis.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Master's or higher degree in relevant engineering field.
  • Knowledge of environmental and performance test methodologies and standards.
  • Experiencewith data acquisition, test automation, and scripting (LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB).
  • ActiveSecret orTop Secretclearance.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Base Salary:

  • Test Engineer 1: $85,000-$105,000
  • Test Engineer 2: $100,000-$120,000

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Work Location— this a fully onsite position based out of our Long Beach, CA office.
  • Work environment—the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
  • Physical demands—the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
