Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardscape Installation Technician to join our landscape team. This position focuses on the expert installation of boulders, stone features, and retaining walls. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience working with natural stone, block wall systems, grade changes, and demonstrates a strong understanding of structural integrity and design aesthetics of outdoor spaces.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Construct boulder walls, natural stone features, and manufactured block retaining walls according to design plans and safety standards.
• Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and layout designs for hardscape projects.
• Operate skid steers, excavators, compactors, and other machinery relevant to grading and stone installation.
• Ensure proper base preparation, drainage, and structural stability of all stonework.
• Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timelines, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with company safety policies.

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in hardscape installation, with emphasis on boulder work and retaining wall systems (e.g., Versa‑Lok, Belgard, Unilock).
• Strong knowledge of drainage systems, base materials, and construction best practices.
• Ability to work independently and lead small crews on‑site when needed.
• Proficient in the use of compact equipment and hand tools required for hardscape construction.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, and standing for long periods in outdoor conditions.
