Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors in Warner Robins is seeking a Hardlines Manager to lead multiple departments including Camping, Fishing & Hunting, Outdoor, Firearms, and Team Sports. You will translate business priorities into clear actions for your team, ensuring strong merchandising, staffing, and operating discipline.

You will plan labor, coach leaders, and uphold safety and compliance standards while using performance data to improve store results and the customer experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Ability to complete firearms sales certifications and power industrial truck certification.
• Experience managing up to 40 team members and achieving sales targets.
• Strong customer focus and leadership in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements.
• Ability to audit firearm sales, including ATF Form 4473 and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of Camping, Fishing & Hunting, Outdoor, Firearms, and Team Sports departments.
• Translate business priorities into clear actions for the team, ensuring merchandising and staffing excellence.
• Plan labor, coach leaders, and drive safety and compliance.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive improvements in customer experience and store performance.
• Collaborate with Store Director and cross-functional partners on goals and execution.
