Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a Hardlines Manager to lead Camping, Fishing & Hunting, Outdoor, Firearms, and Team Sports in a high‑performing store. You will translate priorities into actions, plan labor, coach leaders, and ensure safety, compliance, and service standards to drive sales and customer trust.

You’ll partner with the Store Director and fellow leaders to align goals, develop teams, and maintain consistent standards across departments while delivering an exceptional customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership or management experience.
• Demonstrated success leading departments of up to 40 team members.
• Strong customer focus with a proven commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Ability to analyze business results and translate insights into action.
• Knowledge of safety standards, compliance, and certifications including Firearms Sales.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of Camping, Fishing & Hunting, Outdoor, Firearms, and Team Sports departments.
• Translate business priorities into clear actions for the team with staffing and merchandising plans.
• Plan labor and coach leaders to meet safety, compliance, and service standards.
• Collaborate with Store Director and other store leaders to align goals and execute strategies.
