Job summary

Spencer's and Spirit Halloween are seeking a talented Product Design Illustrator/Graphic Designer to join the Hardlines team. You will develop 2D concepts and production-ready artwork for licensed and proprietary products, including props, masks, and costume accessories.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential, with a bonus for 3D experience. Collaboration with licensing, product development, and vendors will be key in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Toy Design, Product/Industrial Design, or related fields.
• 5-7 years of professional design experience in Hardlines, seasonal décor, or consumer products.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Ability to translate 2D concepts into production-ready 3D models and prepare files for prototyping.
• Experience in toy design and licensed product development.
• Knowledge of current pop culture, gaming, animation, and entertainment trends.
• Strong collaboration and communication in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Proficiency on both Mac and PC operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardlines products including masks, props, weapons, collectables, and costume accessories from concept through final artwork.
• Create production-ready graphic treatments and artwork for a wide variety of styles and themes.
• Create illustrations, specs, renderings, and directions for overseas vendors and licensors to ensure accurate product execution.
• Prepare presentation materials and upload assets into internal systems.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Production, and Licensing to drive projects forward.
• Conceptualize and visualize products in 2D and 3D, including sketches and mockups.
• Research trends to inspire new product concepts.
• Build mood boards and concept presentations for internal reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers, buying teams, and licensing partners.
• Adapt designs to meet brand guidelines and licensed property requirements.
• Prepare design files and production-ready artwork for manufacturing.
