Job summary

Afference Inc is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to support development, validation, and optimization of wearable haptic technology products. You will develop hardware verification protocols, perform system‑level testing, diagnose failures, and drive quality improvements across the product lifecycle.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical/computer engineering and 2–5 years in hardware testing, with hands‑on experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and environmental chambers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years hardware development, testing or validation experience.
• Proficient with lab equipment and test methodologies.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute hardware verification and validation tests for wearable haptic devices.
• Perform functional, electrical, environmental, reliability, and system tests on prototypes and production hardware.
• Diagnose hardware failures and implement corrective actions with engineering teams.
• Design testing methodologies, automation strategies, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Product teams on priorities.
• Support vendor evaluation and component qualification activities through testing and analysis.
• Document test procedures, results, reports, and recommendations clearly.
• Analyze test data and provide technical guidance to leadership and stakeholders.
• Define quality standards and validation criteria for wearable hardware systems.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards, safety requirements, and regulations.
