Responsibilities

• Execute general construction and interior build-out tasks on short or multi-week projects.
• Perform metal framing, drywall installation, and finishing per specs.

• Assist with office and commercial remodeling including demolition.
• Review project schedules and instructions from the Production Manager.
• Identify tools, materials, and PPE for each task.
• Report to job sites on schedule and check in with on-site contacts.
• Provide daily updates on hours, progress, and photos.
• Maintain clean and safe job sites with proper debris disposal.
• Communicate issues promptly to the Production Manager.

Position Description

PCM Services is a commercial contractor in Beltsville, MD, which performs work across the DC/Baltimore metro areas and is seeking a skilled Construction Mechanic to support commercial construction and remodeling projects. This role involves working on interior build-outs and renovations, including metal framing, drywall installation and finishing, acoustic ceiling systems, installation of commercial doors and frames, and general remodeling of offices and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Execute general construction and interior build-out tasks, ranging from single-day assignments to multi-week commercial projects
• Perform metal framing, drywall installation, and drywall finishing in accordance with project specifications
• Install acoustic ceiling systems, commercial doors, frames, and related hardware
• Assist with office and commercial building remodeling, including demolition and reconstruction
• Review project schedules, job sheets, and instructions provided by the Production Manager to fully understand requirements
• Identify and gather necessary tools, materials, and PPE for each task; coordinate with the Production Manager as needed
• Report to assigned job sites on schedule and check in with on-site contacts when applicable
• Provide daily updates to the Production Manager, including hours worked, progress, estimated completion timelines, and job site photos
• Maintain a clean and safe job site, including proper disposal of debris and materials at the end of each shift
• Communicate any issues such as delays, access problems, safety concerns, or additional client requests to the Production Manager promptly

Position Requirements

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction required
• Hands-on experience with:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and nighttime shifts, as required by project demands

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods
