Job summary

Beacon Management is seeking a hands-on Handy Man for 365 Bond Street luxury apartments in Brooklyn, NY. The role involves responding to a wide range of maintenance requests and ensuring timely, quality repairs in occupied and vacant units.

You will work closely with residents and staff, perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, carpentry, painting and flooring tasks, and participate in on-call rotations to provide 24-hour service. Competitive hourly pay is offered.

• Must have strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Handle service requests (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, carpentry, flooring, locks) and rectify issues within 24 hours when possible.
• Complete make-ready repairs in vacant units and services on schedule.
• Participate in on-call rotation for 24-hour emergency maintenance.
• Maintain curb appeal and grounds, assist with landscaping and common area upkeep.

Some Key Responsibilities

• Effectively handle service requests, correcting the situation within 24 hours when possible (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, sheet rocking, plastering, painting, carpentry, flooring and locks)
• Ensure all make-ready repairs in vacant units and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure 24 hour emergency maintenance service and response.
• Maintain the curb appeal of the community by; picking up the grounds, removing snow and debris, working on the landscaping and common area needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, sheet rocking, plastering, painting, carpentry, flooring and locks.
• Customer service skills and the ability to develop a rapport with the residents and community staff.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
