Job summary

UHY in Maryland is seeking an Audit Intern to gain hands-on experience in audit and assurance. You will work with experienced professionals, contributing to the accuracy of financial reporting for diverse clients.

Responsibilities include data entry, documentation, basic analysis, assisting in substantive and control testing, and preparing workpapers and audit reports. You will learn audit software and best practices while developing professional skills.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of relevant experience
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• High School Diploma or GED or High School equivalent certificate
• Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with audit teams on data entry, documentation, and basic financial analysis.
• Assist in conducting audit procedures, including substantive testing and control testing.
• Support maintenance of audit files and documentation for accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
• Assist in preparing workpapers and audit reports.
• Compile financial data for audit analysis.
• Participate in basic analytical procedures to identify trends and anomalies.
• Engage in training sessions to learn audit concepts and software tools.
• Communicate updates and questions to the audit team and maintain open collaboration.
