Franklin Gear & Machine in Houston, TX is seeking a dependable Warehouse & Shipping Associate to support daily warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory control for precision-machined components and industrial gear assemblies.

The role requires hands-on participation, operating forklifts, packaging heavy components, and assisting with loading/unloading trucks while maintaining accurate records and safe workplace practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, or industrial material handling.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment is beneficial.
• Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory/ERP systems.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and verify against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, and discrepancies.
• Identify, label, and document received materials.
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, and management on shortages or discrepancies.
• Prepare outgoing shipments per customer requirements and schedules.
• Generate packing slips, shipping labels, and bills of lading.
• Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers.
• Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas.
• Package gears, shafts, and gearbox components for transport.
• Provide assistance with loading/unloading trucks using forklifts and other equipment.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes when trained and authorized.
• Follow safety procedures for handling oversized or high-value components.
• Support inventory accuracy and documentation.
