Job summary

TSMC Washington is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Equipment Engineer to join our Thin Film Equipment (TFE) team, specializing in CVD tools. You will maintain tool availability, optimize preventive and corrective maintenance, and help sustain high-yield semiconductor manufacturing in a 24/7 cleanroom with mentorship from senior engineers.

Responsibilities include PM, diagnostics, SPC monitoring, RCA support, and collaboration with process engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field as listed.
• 0–2 years of experience in equipment maintenance or related lab/internship projects.
• Experience in cleanroom environments or semiconductor equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CVD tools (HDP, PECVD, SACVD) from major vendors.
• Monitor tool health, particle performance, thickness uniformity, and SPC charts; work with process engineers on modifications and recipes.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and equipment upgrade projects; manage spare parts and maintenance costs.
• Draft and enforce SOPs; uphold EHS and cleanroom safety procedures.
• Operate in a 24/7 fab environment with PPE and shift coverage as needed.
