Job summary

Emerson in Marshalltown, IA is seeking an engineering co-op to develop expertise in process control instruments and test technologies. You will work with Design, Materials and Product Engineering teams to define testing requirements and create test plans for internal and external customers.

You will assemble test units, set up data acquisition, analyze data, and contribute to engineering reports. Proficiency with LabVIEW, FlexLogger, DIAdem, DeltaV, VBA and Python is desired.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an engineering Bachelor's degree program.
• Required coursework: Statics, Fluids, and Mechanics of Materials.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at Marshalltown, IA.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise in process control instruments and control valves.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects for test technology.
• Collaborate with Simulation, Design, Materials and Product Engineering groups to determine testing requirements.
• Develop and complete test plans with internal design teams and external customers.
• Assemble test units, install measurement instrumentation, and set up data acquisition systems.
• Evaluate experimental data and prepare reports with analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Update company-wide standards and web pages.
• Use LabVIEW, FlexLogger, DIAdem, DeltaV, VBA, and Python automated systems for testing, data analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborate in an agile team environment to efficiently conduct testing.
