Job summary

Polar Semiconductor is seeking a Technology Development Engineer Intern in Bloomington, MN, on-site for a 12–13 week program. The intern will assist the Lead Engineer in the Technology Development and Transfer group, supporting new development initiatives and hands-on device characterization.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics, are in their junior year or higher, and have strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and good communication are essential.
• Candidates should have coursework in device physics or semiconductor processing.

Responsibilities

• Characterize electrical parametric devices by hand probe.
• Perform and evaluate process splits.
• Measure and analyze inline wafer data (film thickness, critical dimensions, etc.).
• Create process characterization documents.
• Support company initiatives such as quality, safety and environmental management, CQI, 5S, yield management and cost containment.
• Other duties as assigned.
