Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. seeks a Structural Engineering Intern for the 2027 program to gain hands-on experience on infrastructure and facility projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Interns will join project teams, contribute to meaningful assignments, and develop technical and professional skills while working full-time during the internship and possibly traveling to project sites or Hanson offices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in structural engineering and the consulting industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally, as required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with structural analysis and design calculations.
• Support the preparation of engineering reports, technical documents, and plan production.
• Utilize industry-standard engineering software and tools.
• Review plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Participate in project meetings and coordination activities.
• Conduct research and gather technical information to support project development.
• Assist with field investigations, site visits, and construction observations, as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation, aviation, water, industrial, and municipal projects.
• Build professional relationships through networking events, training opportunities, and intern development activities.
