Job summary

Beacon Hill represents a food manufacturing client seeking a Safety Specialist for a direct-hire, fully on-site role in Saddle Brook, NJ. The ideal candidate will spend most days on the production floor identifying hazards, coaching teams, and driving safety programs across three facilities.

The role requires hands-on safety leadership, strong OSHA knowledge, and the ability to conduct investigations and trainings while collaborating with EHS leadership and operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, food manufacturing, or EHS.
• Solid understanding of OSHA General Industry standards and safe work practices.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between three facilities.
• OSHA training, CPR/First Aid certification, forklift safety experience or related certifications are a plus.
• Strong ability to identify hazards, coach for safe work practices, and drive risk mitigation.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with EHS leadership and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Spend 70–80% of the day on the production floor conducting observations and identifying hazards.
• Partner with the Director of EHS to strengthen a proactive safety culture.
• Coach employees and supervisors on safe practices; lead toolbox talks and safety orientation.
• Support forklift safety, PPE, LOTO, machine guarding, ergonomics, and hazard communication programs.
• Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analysis; track corrective actions to closure.
• Conduct JSAs/JHAs and risk assessments with action follow-through.
• Assist with first-aid, emergency responses, and stop-work decisions when hazards are identified.
• Provide hands-on safety support across three nearby facilities and participate in alternating weekend on-call rotation.
