Job summary

The Michaels Organization is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general upkeep across residential properties. You will respond to resident requests, assist with move-in/move-out inspections, and help prepare vacant units for occupancy.

You must follow safety policies, keep records of work orders and preventive maintenance, and collaborate with the Property Management team to keep buildings safe and well-maintained.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year maintenance work experience or related field.
• Willingness to perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and cleaning duties.
• Valid Driver's License may be required by the property.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches and outlets; light plumbing tasks.
• Carpentry work: doors, windows, shelves, flooring; interior and exterior painting.
• Replace broken glass, fixtures, appliances and other items.
• Assist in custodial and grounds work in common areas.
• Respond to work orders and resident requests promptly and professionally.
• Assist move-in/out inspections and complete make-ready of vacant apartments.
• Know water and gas meter cut-offs and post maps of utilities.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance, work orders, inventories and purchasing.
• Report maintenance or resident concerns to the manager promptly.
• Periodically inspect units and common areas; ensure lighting and security.
• Attend training seminars; follow OSHA and safety policies.
• Maintain professional interactions with residents, contractors and the team.
• May track stock control and usage of maintenance materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
