Job summary

DEEP Manufacturing seeks a Quality Engineer for our Houston site to establish and run the quality function from the ground up. This hands-on role combines day-to-day inspections, audits, and non-conformance resolution with oversight of the site’s QMS aligned to ISO 9001:2015.

You will partner with production, engineering and leadership to embed a robust quality culture, drive continual improvement, and ensure compliance across US/UK operations, supplier quality, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years quality engineering in manufacturing.
• ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification and hands-on audit experience.
• Experience with core quality tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with ASME/ASTM materials specs.
• Welding knowledge and non-destructive testing familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the QMS in line with ISO 9001:2015 as first quality function on site.
• Plan and lead internal audit program and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Develop and maintain quality control plans, inspection criteria, and work instructions.
• Perform hands-on quality inspections, measurements, and testing on the shop floor.
• Own non-conformance and corrective action processes including root-cause investigation.
• Lead and coordinate external certification audits and customer audits.
• Audit, qualify, and manage supply chain partners against quality requirements.
• Collaborate with UK SHEQ team to keep quality practices aligned with group IMS.
• Support joint/group audits across US and UK sites; ensure shared ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
• Serve as main contact for customers and suppliers on quality matters.
• Track, analyze, and report quality metrics to leadership.
• Lead management review of the quality system and drive improvements.
• Control documentation and records; train staff on standards.
• Shape future quality processes and team structure as the business grows.
