Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is a pioneer building a global cellular broadband network in space, seeking two hands-on Manufacturing Test & Debug Engineers/Technicians in Austin, Texas. You will support the setup, ramp-up, and ongoing operation of our electronics manufacturing and test line, keeping the line running and quickly isolating technical issues.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Hands-on troubleshooting in electronics and board-level debugging.
• Experience in electronic manufacturing, production test, or similar environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, set up, qualify, ramp-up, and operate manufacturing and test stations.
• Provide hands-on engineering support on the production floor.
• Troubleshoot and debug RF and mixed-signal boards on assemblies.
• Diagnose failures at board, component, connector, cable, fixture/jig, and test-station levels.
• Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
• Perform fault isolation, failure analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Repair test fixtures, jigs, cables, connectors, and test equipment.
• Calibrate test instrumentation and equipment in stations.
• Support preventive maintenance and maintain readiness of test equipment.
• Minimize downtime by rapid response to production-line issues.
• Analyze recurring failures and drive corrective actions.
• Improve FPY, yield, and throughput to 98%+.
