Job summary

Workspire is seeking a Production Manager to lead day-to-day operations in the Columbus, Ohio area. You will provide hands-on leadership on the shop floor, set clear expectations, and develop frontline supervisors to build a culture of accountability across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

You will drive continuous improvement, balance process discipline with flexibility, and focus on measurable gains.

Qualifications

• Experience managing frontline production employees.
• Ability to coach supervisors and drive accountability.
• Experience with shop-floor visual management (5S, boards).
• Track record of improving safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Metal fabrication or welding background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities, manage the day-to-day rhythm and coordinate floor priorities.
• Provide hands-on leadership to production employees, set clear expectations, and address performance concerns with consistency and respect.
• Coach and develop frontline supervisors and team leads through clear expectations and regular feedback.
• Reinforce safe working practices and address workplace hazards with the team.
• Own and monitor KPIs across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity; use data to drive corrective action.
• Implement and maintain shop-floor visual management practices, including hour-by-hour boards, 5S, standard work, and material flow improvements.
• Track productivity and workflow challenges; identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to challenge inefficient processes and drive sustainable changes.
• Establish and reinforce standard work; encourage suggestions for process improvement.
• Communicate production priorities, staffing considerations, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
